CREW Tips and Tricks
Parameters
- Leave a field blank to obtain ALL. Leaving a field blank is the same as selecting ALL in AWS2. CREW will not accept the word ALL. It is best not to use ranges when trying to capture all values, instead leave the field blank and all values will be selected.
- The more specific the report parameters are the quicker the report will return results. Currently the Monthly Salary Certification report is taking a long time, so try to be as specific as possible.
- If you want to view the parameters used to for a given request, select the link for the request ID. This will summarize all of the criteria for the report.
- The cover page of each report summarizes the parameters used. Keep this page with the report so that you know what results you received.
- The portfolio checkbox should only be used by users who have a portfolio in GMAS. If you do not have access to the GMAS application, or do not know what your portfolio encompasses, you must leave this parameter unchecked.
Lookup
- Utilize the lookup functionality to locate values or ID numbers.
- When using the lookups use % as a wild card. For example, root %fer% will return any root description with the letters consecutively together.
- If you enter in the tub value, then select lookup for the org value, only those orgs belonging to that tub will appear.
- You cannot enter ranges for subactivity values, instead utilize the lookup once the activity value is entered (only related subactivities will appear) and select each subactivity.
Scheduling
- When possible, we strongly encourage you to schedule your reports to run at off peak hours. This will speed up the return time for everyone.
Other
- To rerun past queries select the
icon.
- You will only see projects that you have permission to see. If you run a report for all Tubs, but only have the ability to see tub 370, you will only get results for tub 370.
